Why is IDW re-reprinting the stuff that Marvel reprinted in the 80's. It's the same parts of Dr. Who monthly that Marvel did before.

Why not do some of the other stuff? At least they did two issues of the Grant Morrison written Dr. Who?

Can anyone answer: who's the penguin hanging out with the Sixth Doctor?

They are doing other stuff, IDW puts them all out as minis. Also, I think those reprints have been recoloured, but could be wrong.

All I know is that he's some sort of companion from the comics only.

Probably because of the creative teams involved.

As long as the books sell and IDW keeps the liscence, I would expect that we will see some of the other stuff reprinted, but you can't fault them for going with the Dave Gibbons and the Morrisons and the people that comics readers have heard of.

I've been getting the original stuff IDW's been doing. I wish Pia Guerra had done all of The Forgotten. It was a fun mini-series.

Ok, that makes sense. I hadn't thought about existing fanbases. Just frustrating that I've barely read any Pertwee or McCoy or for that matter McGann comics.

I never got the full story, but she got sick or something while she was working on it and that is why Yates filled in.

The penguin isn't a penguin. He's a shapeshifter called Frobisher who happens to like the form of a penguin. He also appeared in the audios and novels.

As for new material...let's hope IDW reprints all strips from DWM. The Paul McGann stories are awesome!
