I can't see that really happening, honestly. Running shorts are probably more realistic if athletes wanted to wear something shorter over tights. At worse, you'd see something more like coaches shorts (if those abominations ever show back up )

Speedo briefs are going the way of the dinosaur, anyhow. I saw more of the compression short-style speedos in the Olympics last year
