Enjoyed the Wildstorm oral history book (it was a Kickstarter, so I don't know if it's regularly available or not). PRetty much what you would expect re: culture clash when DC became part of the equation.

When Lee sold it to Wildstorm, it's been a mixed bag in the long run. On one hand, I like the contrast between both worlds as we got some good stories when characters from both worlds met( IE. Majestic showing up in Metropolis and encountering Superman and the rest of the Superman Family). However, Warner and DC primarily purchased WS because of Lee and not so much the characters and just saw them as an after-thought. DC and Marvel have a bad history with their imprints as they just buy out these other companies and later leave them to rot in the long run. Fortunately WS hasn't ended up like Malibu but the common factor is that their parent companies will never let them outshine their primary characters.
