Although, I will say that Johns did a great job of portraying the way bullying tends to work in a lot of schools. In this case, the bullies were the children of an important member of the community so the fact that they started the fight was overlooked because somebody dared to lay a hand on them. I definitely have more respect for Mr. Vasquez now as he proved that will actually stand up for these kids.

The only reason why I read the Justice League is for the Shazam stories. Justice League continues to deliver on the disappointment. It's just not.. good.

This Billy Batson makes so much more sense than the super-happy orphan Billy Batson of yesteryear. Also, Gary Frank's art has improved and I actually enjoy it now.

ESF is sorta right, this might actually be the best issue of JL yet. but again, the first eight have been so dreadfully awful that that's damning with faint praise. it's still a thinly-written, inexcusably boring excuse for an artist showcase book, when it should be so, SO much better. 3 out of 5 stars at best.

however, that score then gets downgraded another 1/2 - full star b/c the Shazam backup is just so fucking bad. it's an insult to...well, just about everything. terrible.
