Simple question.

Who do you like best on Secret Avengers and why?

If it is a "secret" Avenger writer, how would I know who they are?? This is really a dumb topic. . . . . . :smt011

How is Spencer's Secret Avengers work better than Remender's?

Remender's robot wars went on for way too long.

Eh. I'd take Remender's robot war over those Fear Itself issues. :smt090

That a problem I've noticed with Remender in general. He's a good writer, but he badly needs an editor to tell him to cut things back.

I had trouble with both, to be honest. Remender's robot wars felt like unused X-Force ideas and I just couldn't get into Spencer's brainwashed Avengers.

I'd say Ellis, sure they were just a series of single issue stories, but those single issues were probably the strongest that series has seen so far.

I only read the Brubaker and Spencer issues

Brubaker's were not great, I didn't like it very much.

Spencer's were completely unreadable

Brubaker's laid down some ground work that Ellis and Remender took advantage of. The stories themselves were enjoyable, but they weren't great.

Spencer's tie-in issues suffered from some hokey morals (specifically the first three issues).

I think Ellis, Remender and Brubaker all brought interesting ideas and themes to their runs and also picked some very cool team members.

That being said, I think this book has really had trouble finding it's footing under any creative team and it shows.

The new volume has been showing some promise though.

Kot's is the only one I've read, so I guess it wins by default? Still, I'm an issue behind but it's pretty great.
