I didn't think that this second issue was a strong as the first issue. That's not to say it was bad, I did still enjoy it, but it wasn't as strong. We get to know Miguel's new super and Miguel and Liz Allen talk. This issue seemed to be all about setting up the supporting cast. It did well in doing that, but the subject matter it covered doesn't make for the most exciting of stories.

There was a prologue involving a bank robbery that was fun, but that was it as far as any action this issue. Like I said, it did a good job in doing what it did, but I want more out of a series staring this character than what this issue provided, as least on a regular basis. An issue like this every once in awhile is kind of cool though.

Bumping, because I'm sure I'm not the only one reading this series.

I actually liked the fact that this issue took a step back and started building a foundation for Miguel while he is stuck in the present plus, I really liked the way that Miguel dealt with Liz Allan's inquisition into his past. I didn't want somebody from Alchemax to immediately discover Miguel's identity and try to exploit him, so his quick thinking was a fun twist. However, I agree that it wasn't as strong as the first issue.

I think issues like this have their place, and once again don't get me wrong, I did enjoy this issue for what it was. Having said that, I'm not sure that place is the second issue overall. the first issue was fun and fast paced and I was expecting more of the running forward that the series started off with. Instead the second issue put the brakes on creating a start and then immediately slow down feeling to the plot. It's makes for an overall series pacing that seems somewhat unsatisfying at the moment.

Wait, there's still a Spider-Man in 2099?

Who knew!

I concur. It was good, but the first issue was so strong! I did like the bit where he threw his boss out the window.. I think some interesting plotlines were put in place and a book is only as good as its chatacters, so this development may make the book stronger going forward.

I also have a theory that the lipstick was laced with some isotope or something so that she can prove he is spidey.

Interesting idea.

I could see that being the case and it's not beyond the capabilities of Alchemax

Same here, that was a fun look into Miguel's mind and the panic that was going through it at the time.
