We used to have a thread called "Music listening" that Liam and I and a bunch of others used to contribute to on a regular basis. It was awesome. I miss it. I'm restarting it.
So I got two new LPs in the mail Friday. Freeway & Jake One's The Stimulus Package and Strong Arm Steady's In Search of Stoney Jackson. They are both really good. I love the opening track to Stoney Jackson. And the Freeway album comes on green vinyl. I like coloured vinyl.
I'd recommend both, at least to someone who wants to hear some interesting hip hop. I'm not really a Jake One beats fan, but I like his production on the Freeway album. And the SAS album is produced entirely by Madlib, and it's great.
Okay, your turn!

I found a basket full of LPs in my basement shortly after I bought my turntable, and in the basket was this set of 12 records with 20 different composers on them. It was pressed in 1955 or something, and it plays like it was pressed three months ago!

The last album I got was the latest Hot Chip. It's bit mellower than I expected.
Can't wait for the new Gorillaz.

Downloaded Rogue Wave's Permalight, Broken Bells' self-titled, Gorillaz's Plastic Beach, and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club's Beat the Devil's Tattoo today. Didn't care for Permalight, Broken Bells was okay, but the other two were good.

TheFourthman got me checking out Wilco, and I've liked it a lot. Looking for some more stuff I've ignored out of hatred over the past twenty years that might be good.

Seriously though, try Mayer Hawthorne. I think you'll probably hate it, but you might like it, since you're such an open guy all of a sudden.
