Surprising Details Emerge about The Dark Knight Rises

Postby LOLtron » Mon Nov 21, 2011 1:22 pm

Surprising Details Emerge about The Dark Knight RisesAn Empire interview with Chris Nolan and Tom Hardy revealed some surprising details about next summer's hotly-anticipated film.

In an interview with Empire Magazine, director Chris Nolan revealed that The Dark Knight Rises, the final installment in his critically-acclaimed Batman trilogy would be set eight years after The Dark Knight!

Here's what Nolan had to say about the setting of the film: "Perhaps surprisingly for some people, our story picks up quite a bit later, eight years after The Dark Knight. So he's an older Bruce Wayne; he's not in a great state."

For more info, including some new information about Bane, be sure to read the full interview!

Let's hope that 8 years is long enough for his laryngitis to be cured.

So this pretty much kills the rumor about that leaked footage stuff that the movie picks up right after the last film ended?

Sounds like it. I don't see how both could work.

I hope so, as that sounded terrible. However, Bane could break Batman's back at the beginning of the film and that could be why he's in a bad state eight years later.

unless the prologue happens immediately after the last movie and it takes Batman 8 years to recover. If anything, i think this makes the "leak" seem more credible.

I hope not, I thought it sounded pretty cool.
And I had the same thought about why it would be set so far ahead.

Bane, in general and the back-breaking in particular. I always hated that storyline and have only ever liked the character in Secret Six.
