Big Guy and Rusty the Robot Boy

Year first appeared: 1995

"Fun comic. Funner cartoon"

I have to agree with that quote, except I would make sure it was in proper grammar before sending it to me. But that’s not the point, this was a fun one shot. And it was a damn fun cartoon. Here is the solicitation for what the comic was about in case you do not know:

A gargantuan monster is tearing apart downtown Tokyo and turning its fair citizens into a menagerie of grotesques! Can anyone stop the carnage? Can anyone save the city? Enter Rusty, the Boy Robot, Japan's biggest big gun! If he can't atomize the atomic monstrosity, nobody can! Or, rather, nobody in the Eastern hemisphere!

See, Rusty is pretty much your Astro Boy clone, and he is supposed to be trained by Big Guy, the worlds best and powerful robot. Thing is, the govt. is playing a little trick on the public. Big Guy is not a robot at all, just a guy in a highly sophisticated robotic exoskeleton. Oh Punk'd. Wicked Burn.

But seriously, this is good.

Elixir

Year first appeared: 2003

Elixir is an Omega-level mutant whose abilities have yet to reach their full potential. As an Omega Level Mutant, his capabilities are only limited by his imagination when he reaches his full potential. His power is to manipulate organic material on a genetic level mainly allowing him to heal wounds. This ability requires him to have direct contact with those he wishes to heal. Because of the nature of his power, Elixir recently began studying human anatomy. With a greater understanding of the inner workings of the human body, he has demonstrated the ability to heal or even re-grow tissue that has been damaged beyond repair or removed completely. For example, when an enemy removed a classmate’s heart, Elixir was able to grow a new heart in its place simply by concentrating on the construction of the human heart, re-growing one section at a time until the organ was complete. He has also demonstrated the ability to heal his own minor wounds at a subconscious level, however healing greater damage to his own body does take some degree of concentration.

Theoretically, he may even have the capacity to alter his own genetic code, which may be why he is classed as a potential Omega. Elixir has also demonstrated using his powers in offensive ways. When enraged by an attack on the Mansion and the imminent threat to his friends, Elixir made contact with William Stryker and reversed his healing power causing Stryker a rapid death. This power has been demonstrated since, and is an ability that he has limited control over. While he has begun to explore what he can do with his healing abilities, he has yet to fully explore his control over the reversal of healing, and the use of this portion of his ability will most likely result in the death of the target.

Ampersand

Year first appeared: 2002

Now this pick made me laugh. And truly he is the best sidekick ever. What else do I need to say? He is a monkey and he rocks the Kasbah.

The End.

PS: Read Y - The Last Man.

Asuka

Year first appeared: 2001

Asuka Soryu is one of the lead protagonists of Neon Genesis Evangelion. Asuka is an extroverted young woman, constantly trying to be the center of everyone's attention.

ImageIn her early appearances, Asuka has a high synchronization ratio and displays exceptional skill as an Eva pilot. She is also very aggressive and confident in battle, which works both for and against her as the series progresses. After being defeated in battle by the Angel Zeruel, Asuka's self-confidence (and, correspondingly, her sync ratio and effectiveness as a pilot) begins to dwindle. This comes to a head in episode 22, when the Angel Arael appears. Burdened by increasingly poor results in synchronization tests, Asuka is infuriated when she is ordered to serve as backup for Rei. She launches herself in Unit 02 and tries to attack the Angel alone but is overwhelmed by its attack, which forces her to relive the painful memories of her past and causes her to suffer a mental and emotional breakdown. She loses the will to live and is incapable of piloting Unit 02 again in the series. Some of the last images of her in the original television series before episodes 25 and 26 show her lying in a hospital bed, seemingly in a catatonic state.

In The End of Evangelion, Asuka is placed inside Unit 02 for protection from the Japanese Strategic Self Defense Forces assault on the GeoFront. With Unit 02 submerged in a lake and bombarded by depth charges, Asuka declares that she does not want to die and, in a moment of clarity, realizes that her mother's soul is carried within the Eva and has been protecting her all along. She regains her self-identity, engages and defeats the JSSDF, and is later confronted by the Mass Produced Evas. During the battle, she successfully disables all nine opponents; however, Unit 02's power runs out, and the MP Evas' S² Engines allow them to remain functional even after being severely damaged and/or mutilated. They proceed to eviscerate and dismember Unit 02 using their Lance of Longinus replicas, thus causing Asuka's body to actually suffer the wounds inflicted to the machine and apparently killing her (her Entry Plug is never seen being destroyed, but the Nerv staff appear to believe her dead). During this final assault, Asuka is briefly able to reactivate Unit 02, but only enough for it to move its arm slightly, nowhere near the full "berserker" mode that Shinji is able to achieve. She is mysteriously alive at the conclusion of the movie, after Shinji rejects I
