Welcome to the Outhouse’s newest column, Five Flushes. With this column, you’ll get to know what is the best of the best as your fellow Outhousers predict what will be great this week. Unforunately, The Outhouse didn’t get enough people interested in this so we only have three flushes, Y: The Last Man Vol. 8: Kimono Dragons TP, Punisher War Journal #1, and 52 #29, but if you’re interested in partaking in future Five Flushes send a PM containing one paragraph (at most) hyping the particular release to John Lewis before Monday morning the week of the release. Click on the images for more information about the release. Enjoy:

52 #29
Publisher: DC
Creative team: various
Picked by L’Indépendant
If you’ve dropped this series, now would be a good time to pick it back up. In #27, we saw Ralph do some incredible stuff (I won’t spoil it for you, should you want to go back and read it). Last issue, we saw the re-appearance of Batwoman and the whereabouts of Red Tornado. In an industry plagued by delays and $2.99 comics, this series is on-time (unless Diamond screws up) and $2.50. My hat’s off to DC for being consistent and providing such a great series.

Y: The Last Man Vol. 8: Kimono Dragons TP
Publisher: Vertigo/ DC
Creative team: Brian K. Vaughan, Pia Guerra, Jose Marzan, Jr. and Goran Sudzuka
Picked by Keb
Buy this trade because it’s worth all $14.99 you’ll pay for it. Then send me $14.99 so I can buy it too.
HAWK: Keb, however, forgot he lives in Canada and thus $14.99 won’t be enough.

Punisher War Journal #1
Publisher: Marvel
Creative team: Matt Fraction & Ariel Olivetti
Picked by john lewis
What’s more fun than watching Frank Castle, the Punisher, destroy mob bosses as if they were created with a self-destruct button? Watching him go through super-villains in the same way. With Civil War upon the Marvel Universe’s superheroes, the villains are having a field day and it’s up to Frank to lay down the law in this story by Matt Fraction (Casanova) and Ariel Olivetti (Space Ghost).
To discuss.
