We don't typically post unfounded rumors from Rich Johnston's hive of scum and villiany, Bleeding Cool, but this is simply too hilarious to ignore.
According to a new report, Stephanie Brown has been replaced from Smallville Season 11 by Barbara Gordon.

Brown, a former Robin and Batgirl, has been conspicuously absent despite the pleas of dozens of fans.  Bryan Miller, former writer of the Brown-centric Batgirl series and current writer of Smallville, announced that a version of the character would appear in the series, which serves as a sequel to the long-running CW show.

However, this no longer seems to be the case.  According to the report, Brown will be replaced by Barbara Gordon and is requiring new art and dialogue to be inserted at the last moment.  When approached for comment, DC's head honcho Dan Didio was thought to have said "Bwahahahahahahahahahahaha!"  With cheeks flushed and tears streaming from his eyes, he pounded on his desk. "Hahahahahahahahahaha!"

Fans of Brown are sure to be devestated by the news.  If you or a loved one find yourself depressed by the replacement of Brown (again) by an out of date ginger harlequin, be sure to call 1-800-273-8255 before doing anything drastic.

It's due to the fact that Barbara sucks so much as Batgirl, DC realizes they can't have the two superior models walking around.

After this, DC is starting an initiative where they will simply edit Stephanie Brown out of all future trade paperback releases that would include her. From now on, War Games will make even less sense then before!

This, of course, is all leading up to DC's massive "Protocol 52" initiative where Didio hires a bunch of goons to go door to door rifling through everybody's comics, trade paperback, or hardcovers censoring any panels that have so much as a hint of Stephanie Brown and/or any other character that Didio doesn't like or has not included in the DCnU. Which is terribly inconvenient for me because I just got the first volume of Geoff John's Flash omnibus and haven't had a chance to read it yet.

No writer is above DC and editorials, when they say no Stephanie Brown it means no Stephnie Brown, !!, you dont get to pande to fans and act like the good guy while DC appear as the baddies.
