My Little Pony Comic Outsells Green Lantern, Wolverine and the X-Men, Detective Comics, Amazing Spider-Man

Bleeding Cool reported today that the first issue of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic will eclipse 90,000 sales, which would have it outselling the most recent issues of popular comics like Uncanny X-Men, Green Lantern, Detective Comics, and Amazing Spider-Man. While the sales are inflated by variant covers, let's all take a moment and realize that this is a world where a comic based on a pre-teenage girl toy franchise is outselling Spider-Man, Batman and the X-Men.

On a completely unrelated note, Marvel announced that it was developing a new cartoon called My Little Wolvie: Stabbing is Special which will feature animal versions of Marvel's favorite characters learn important life lessons about sharing, violence and love. The new cartoon will feature Wolvie, a talking wolverine, meeting characters like Spidey, Jeanie the Phoenix and Cyke the Talking Douchebag and learning important life lessons like when it's appropriate to hit on a co-worker's wife, what to do when you get into an argument with a friend, and how to become the most popular talking animal in all of Marvelestria. The show will be aimed at 20-40 year old single males, AKA the brony demographic.

Note: My Little Wolvie is not a real TV show yet, but I will stab you if you try to pitch it to Marvel without my written consent.

T'is true ! I was at my comic shop yesterday by 1PM and I snagged the last copy of Batgirl #13 :smt023
