Giffen To Write

New He-Man title to debut in April

Source: MTV Geek

DC announced today that a new He-Man title premieres in April, written by Keith Giffen with art by Pop Mhan. The new on-going series will be titled "Masters Of The Universe". The first issue will feature the return of She-Ra however there will be a twist to her character: she will initially be called Despara and is one of Hordak's most deadliest warriors.

The She-Ra digital one-shot that came out in December told the backstory of how She-Ra had been kidnapped as a baby by Skeleor, raised by Hordak and brainwashed into becoming a villain.

The current "He-Man And The Masters Of The Universe" miniseries by James Robinson ends this month. No word yet on if these two titles are connected.

Below is the cover to issue #1 by Ed Benes. A variant cover by Terry Dodson and Rachel Dodson will also be available.

I stopped reading the Masters of the Universe mini when I moved and my new comic shop didn't pull it for me. I remember really liking the first issue, was the rest any good? Would it be worth my time to buy the trade when it comes out?

I loved this show when I was a little kid, but I've never found it interesting in any of the reboots.

Just because I don't know how to spell the language of some tiny African nation doesn't mean that I'm wrong in thinking that your attitude towards women is 100% wrong. Obviously, you're some skinny, single nerd living on the East Coast who probably derives value in life from wrestling matches, hoping that Wolverine gets to sleep with teenagers and engaging in casual drug use. You're literally the worst thing to happen to comics since Stan Lee.
