The hit post apocalyptic video game from Bethesda could be coming to TV.
Source: Eurogamer
Like all the other early guesses of upcoming Bethesda projects, this comes to us from the US Patent and Trademark Office. Bethesda Softworks has registered a trademark for:
An on-going television program set in a post-nuclear apocalyptic world.
Recently, speculation about a possible Fallout 4 game started making the rounds after voice actor Erik Dellums (@ETDellums) sent out a couple tweets:
To all my #Fallout3 and #ThreeDog fans: There may be more of the Dog coming! Fingers crossed!
How was that for a tease! I was given permission to release that tease, so fingers crossed
Erik played DJ Three Dog in Fallout 3 and though many assumed he was perhaps doing voice work for the next game, he may instead have been referring to something for the tv series. After watching other post apocalyptic shows like The Walking Dead find a huge audience, Bethesda may want in on the action.
Update 1/17/2013:
Recieved some additional info from a reader - He points out that Bethesda originally registered this trademark in 2009 and that the news everyone is reporting on is simply an extension to keep it from expiring.
We still have the mysterious tweet from Erik Dellums, though that could apply to new game work as some have hoped and not TV work. Plus, with what shows have to go through to make it to TV, even if it is being worked on it could end up sitting in a variety of stages of development hell. Our hopes might be better pinned on Fallout 4.
