I liked this list results more than I've ever liked any other.

I think its going to be even harder for me. I can't see Crisis on Infinite Earths, Under Siege from Avengers, The Trigon saga from the Wolfman Perez Teen Titans, Cosmos in Collision from Quasar and Mark Gruenwald's masterpiece known as Captain America No More not making my list. That's going to leave five slots to represent the rest of my history as a reader and my views of comic book history.

Its not going to be an easy task.

Throw on top of that the fact that every limited series I've ever read will be eligible, something I didn't have to think about with the Top Runs list.

rdrsfn82 wrote:I think top story is easier for me to narrow down than top run was.

my early favorites:

Kraven's Last Hunt
Born Again
Judas Contract
Batman Year One
Cap vs. Red Skull (Cap 290 - 301)
Under Siege
Return of Barry Allen
New Frontier
Grand Guignol
God Loves, Man Kills

i threw out single issue stories just because. once i did that, those 10 above are the stories i re-read the most.

after those, i'd also probably have to consider:

Fantastic Four vs. X-Men (Claremont/Bogdanove mini)
Golden Age
Heaven's Ladder
The Nail
Gotham by Gaslight
ASS vs. Ultra-Humanite and debut of Infinity Inc. (All-Star Squadron 21 - 25 and Annual 2)
Shang-Chi vs. Fu Manchu (MoKF 44-51 primarily, but really everything from the first Gulacy issue onward led up to that)
Dark Phoenix Saga
The Night Gwen Stacy Died
Time, Like A Runaway Freight Train...
JMD's Harry Saga
Armor Wars
Cap No More (332-350)
Blackfire/X'Hal/Citadel "War!" arc
Lost in Space-Time
Ultron Unlimited
Galactus Saga
Battle for the Baxter Building
COIE
Elektra Saga
Man Without Fear
Nocenti's arc with DD vs. Mephisto
Guardian Devil
Quiver

shit...maybe this is harder than i thought...

I'd be curious to see where 90s stories like AoA, Reign of the Supermen, and Emerald Twilight rank.

Seriously? I'd have thought you'd like it. It definitely had a '00s Marvel flavor to it.
