Jeff Loeb Takes a Break from Ruining Marvel Animation to Bring Back Sabretooth

Postby LOLtron » Fri Jun 08, 2012 4:41 pm

Jeff Loeb Takes a Break from Ruining Marvel Animation to Bring Back SabretoothMarvel held a "Next Big Thing" press conference today to discuss Jeph Loeb and Simone Bianchi's Wolverine story.

Good news for fans of Marvel's cartoons - Jeph Loeb will be at least momentarily distracted from his systematic destruction of everything you know and love as he works on his latest Wolverine story. Loeb began the first part of the story that continues in Sabretooth Reborn, Evolution, five years ago, and he says that he always intended to come back and tell this followup. "I wanted to tell the sequel right away, but I saw that people were enjoying their cartoons a little too much and my very lifeforce is replenished by sucking joy from people's souls through cancelling great cartoons and replacing them with pale imitations aimed at five year olds and idiots, so you can imagine I've been busy," is something that Loeb did not actually say, but we imagine describes his thought process. Indeed, Loeb's drive to remove the complexity and nuance from any project he lays his clawed talons upon seems to have affected even Bianchi, who promises that his pages will be laid out in a simpler and easier to understand manner.

A lot has changed since Loeb wrote Evolution, but he intends to ignore any kind of evolving continuity, and will instead feature Cloak and Dagger and Romulus in the storyline, as well as an as-yet-unrevealed secret guest star. In fact, Loeb has promised to not even reference continuity from his own issues, assuring readers that they won't need to have read Evolution to understand Sabretooth Reborn. In fact, they won't even need to read Sabretooth Reborn. They can just look at the covers. Below are some images we stole from IGN. Sabretooth Reborn begins in Wolverine #310.

Just because I don't know how to spell the language of some tiny African nation doesn't mean that I'm wrong in thinking that your attitude towards women is 100% wrong. Obviously, you're some skinny, single nerd living on the East Coast who probably derives value in life from wrestling matches, hoping that Wolverine gets to sleep with teenagers and engaging in casual drug use. You're literally the worst thing to happen to comics since Stan Lee.

I was under the impression that Cloak and Dagger's powers were currently switched...was I mistaken?

You're thinking of Bendis. He's the one who spits on continuity.

Didnt we see these previews like 6 months ago?

I wish Loeb would take a break from everything that has to do with Marvel.

It's kinda hard to argue with the subject title. :(

Unfortunately, I agree. Does ANYONE like/buy his stuff? His Ultimate Spider-Man doesn't get the reviews (or ratings?) that Spectacular Spider-Man did, no one seems to like his Wolverine run, etc.

Loeb must have some WONDERFULLY evil blackmail pictures of the higher ups...

I bet they involve goats.

Question - if Wolverine's claws are so sharp that they can cut through anything, how can he climb a building with them?

Wouldn't he just keep sliding down?

you do realize that the internet fans are not the only people who buy comics right??? there are plenty of people who buy comics that don't talk on message boards. Just because us vocal fans hate loeb doesn't mean every fan hates loeb
