The iconic character makes her triumphant return to comics... as NIGHTWING!
Bryan Q. Miller, who is writing the Smallville Season 11 book, but also wrote for the TV show and wrote the beloved character Stephanie Brown in the last Batgirl series before DC's nu52 relaunch, has revealed that Nightwing will be appearing alongside Batman in Smallville... but Nightwing will be Brown instead of Dick Grayson!
Stephanie Brown fans everywhere were overjoyed to learn that the barely legal character was making her return. "I'm literally crying for joy," said Arnold Hurtzowitz, a part-time shift manager at GameStop. "I was just devastated to live in a world that Steph didn't exist."
"Steph is so uplifting," said Charles Jurgenburger, an unemployed 33 year old man living in his mother's basement. "I've been keeping the torch alive on various internet threads, but lately I've given up hope. I'm really glad that my hours of cataloging every picture that's ever existed of her has paid off."
"I'm just worried that she won't be the same," said Mac Chang, a professional masturbator. "If her chest size is different, she's really not the same character, y'know?"
The twelfth Batgirl, whose popularity was so vast that her solo series sold almost 10,000 issues, has long been a fan-favorite since debuting in Robin almost twenty years ago. Her teen pregnancy plotline was a popular one amongst fans, most of whom either imagined that they were the ones to knock her up or that they would raise the child as their own.
Indeed, Stephanie Brown continued to make splashes after her series cancellation, when an angry fan dressed as the character confronted Dan Didio, causing the DC executive to be surprised that anyone would bother to spend time recreating the character's boring, utterly unoriginal costume.
"Who needs a character that's been depicted on multiple platforms over the last seventy years?" said Zachary Quallos, when learning that Brown would be replacing Dick Grayson. "Far better to have a character that two hundred people have heard of! That will get sales to really take off!"
But not everyone is thrilled about the news. nudepicsofstephaniebrown.tumblr.com released a statement reminding fans that this wasn't the real Stephanie Brown. "We will not rest, we will not sleep, we will not draw another anatomically incorrect picture of naked females until the real Stephanie Brown has been returned to her proper place at the top of DC's heirarchy."
This reporter wanted to find a suitably creepy picture of Stephanie Brown to complement this article, but as I am actively attempting to avoid moving further up the FBI's sexual predator watch list, I was reluctant to search for Brown with Google's safe-search feature disabled. Instead, please enjoy this pic from the next best thing,
