Another Scottish writer is receiving an honorary title.
Mark Millar, the writer of hits such as
Civil War, Kick Ass and the critically acclaimed "Never Play with the Toyman's Toys"
Superman story, is receiving an honorary doctorate from Glasgow Caledonian University next week.
Millar originally attended the college, known originally as "The Dough School" by local Scots, but dropped out to write such fantastic and unique ideas such as thieves coolly pulling off a heist, a child gaining Superman-esque powers and Captain America acting like an over the top fascist that fights superheroes instead of discussing problems like a rational human being (a character trait that has lingered to this very day). He's also responsible for
The Ultimates, a modern take of the Avengers which heavily influenced the gazillion dollar money making
Avengers Assemble movie.
When asked for a comment, an official from the school is thought to have replied "We're huir uv a prood ay Mark Millar an' aw his wee bonny accomplishments. He's th' greatest college dropit tae attend thes skale since Sairrr William th' sheepfucker fa boffed ower tois hunder sheep in 1897." We have no idea what that means, but we're presuming it's high praise.
