I hope this is an arc in Rucka's Punisher run and not a new title.

CBR wrote:Today, the publisher gives away a huge piece of the puzzle, revealing that come October, "Punisher War Zone" makes its return to the Marvel Universe. How Frank Castle's new series fits in with Greg Rucka and Marco Chechetto's current ongoing "Punisher" title remains to be seen, s is the anti-hero's apparent issue with the Avengers.

But I suspect this is just more of the Marvel re-branding:

THE PUNISHER #15 & 16
GREG RUCKA (w) • Marco Checchetto (a)
Cover by Kalman Andrasofszky (#15)
Cover by Marco Checchetto (#16)
• ISSUE #15 – The Punisher vs. the NYPD. Nobody wins.
• ISSUE #16 – The Punisher and Cole reach a shared conclusion. Prepare for the War Zone.

The Internet: Fooled by This is War Teasers?

The Internet: Fooled by This is War Teasers?Shocking development in the This is War teaser story.

This week, Marvel released a series of teasers, leading people to believe that they were promoting a new event right on the heels of Avengers vs. X-Men. The Reckoning War (a planned event written by Slott, Ultron War (hinted at in Bendis' Avengers) and Boston War (Captain America declares war on Boston after eradicating the mutant threat) were all suggested as answers.

However, today they revealed that all that build up was for Punisher War Zone, a new/old title that will either feature the Punisher killing heroes that don't matter, or take place in an alternate Universe that everyone will forget about by this time next year.  Presumably, the storyline of the book will focus on Frank Castle's jealousy and frustration with the fact that all of those other characters are serviced with quality writing and production in their movie adaptations, while various attempts at Punisher movies are treated with about the same seriousness as Howard the Duck

Earlier in the week, Stephen Wacker criticized the internet on Twitter about websites that call his company's marketing campaign "lame", so instead we'll simply say this: what a fantastic idea.

We're glad that Marvel has decided to publish the tenth volume of a series repeatedly cancelled due to low sales and a lack of real juicy plotline.  We're even more glad that the teasers show the Punisher hunting heroes, something that we'll know he'll fail at.  The best part about this is that since Marvel didn't tell us what the teaser campaign was about, we decided to run it thinking it was a build-up to an awesome reveal instead of a second Punisher title that no one will read.

Congratulations to the person that thought this was Punisher Kills the Marvel Universe 2: The Legend of Curly's Gold.  We're sorry we didn't believe you.

Another thing you can learn about Steven Wacker from his twitter feed is that he's quite proud of himself for not being able to follow a single Doctor Who or Sherlock episode but loved the Spiderman Broadway musical.

And that, as they say, speaks volumes.

well what do I know I haven't watched any of them :drunk

But I do find it hard to believe that the plots of either of them woul be too complicated for a grown adult.

Well, to put it into perspective: Doctor Who is one of my six-year-old son's favourite shows and he follows the plot just fine.

"Punisher Kills The Marvel Universe 2: The Legend Of Curly's Gold" may be the greatest collection of words ever strung together on the internet.
