In a new teaser for the Cup O' Joe Panel at San Diego Comic Con on Friday, Marvel asks the question: Who Will Shape the Future of Marvel NOW?
No, really, they want to know. It seems that, thanks to spoilerific articles from Bleeding Cool and Entertainment Weekly, comics fandom knows more about Marvel's relaunch than Marvel themselves. As a result, the Cup O' Joe Panel at San Diego Comic Con will change formats, with the chubby Marvel CCO asking fans questions instead of the other way around.
"It's hard to keep up with all the spoilers regarding Marvel NOW, so we've decided not to try," said Quesada in a conference call with The Outhouse, Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, and a small group of leprechauns. "The fans know more than we do, so we're hoping they can fill us in at the panel. We're not really sure how this happened. We tried to keep things under wrap. It would have worked too, if it wasn't for those meddling kids at Bleeding Cool."
When asked if they were aware that Black Nick Fury (known affectionately as Blurry to his Internet fanbase) was peaking out behind the wall of text in the teaser, Quesada cursed and said, "I don't know, is it? It's hard to keep track."
Quesada also responded to allegations that the company was mismanaging their security by allowing all of these spoilers to be leaked before the convention. "We take the utmost pride in our security practices, and I stand 100% behind the decision to hire Rich Johnston in a fake mustache and sunglasses to manage our... wait a minute... dammit!" said Quesada, obviously flustered.
Quesada then tried to buy our silence with a hot piece of spoilery news, but Johnston swooped in and stole it away, then escaped via hot air balloon, and will post it later this week on Bleeding Cool.
