Astonishing X-Men Ghost Boxes is a hit!
Warren Ellis does it again! This time the legendary scribe teams up with superstar artists Alan Davis and Adi Granov to bring you into the stone cold psyche of Subject X. Astonishing X-Men: Ghost Boxes #1 (of 2) is a nonstop romp through dystopic Marvel universes where the sadistic Agent X-13 has completed his mission. Not only does this director’s cut style issue have two awe inspiring stories, but it also provides a unique look into the creative process behind crafting these tales with a look at Warren Ellis’ script!

Haven't read this, but his regular Astonishing run is crap so far.

I don't get the point of this? Carrie what did you write? Just a collection of reviews and opinions? I didn't understand what your point was, i guess you just wanted to feature this book for a reason?

It's a Marvel press release to promote the book. It was posted to give people who read it a chance to talk about it and to give people who haven't a chance to get some feedback on it.

I am a HUGE Warren Ellis fan.
I haven't read Ghost boxes, but I've read the first 3 issues of AXM and they're extremely underwhelming.

I read it today. Honestly, I was just as dissappointed in it as I am the rest of his run. And I can't believe I'm saying this, but he just doesn't have Emma down at all.
Of course the only way Emma will really be written right is when she's six feet under, but that's a different story.

This issue was terrible. And what angers me more is that it was $4.

nope, this is about a press release that Marvel has put out and Carrie brought to us. Although there may be a few similarities, it is a totally different thread.

I liked it. I consistently fail to understand the complaints with Ellis' Astonishing.
At least this time people had an unreasonably high price to complain about. That's a fair criticism, for a change.
The stories were cool, though. Steampunk X-Men? That's cool. And the artwork was lovely, both Davis and Granov are excellent.
