Maybe, at first glance, until you think about what you just did. You proved yourself wrong, (assuming you're referring to the Outhouse being an echo chamber itself), by pointing out that there's always someone here willing to call anyone on something they think is wrong, dumb, or whatever, while the folks at WB, (and other studios to be fair), don't normally get that. Or the people at DC. There was Rob Thompson to tell Geoff Johns and Didio that the nu52 was a bad idea, or Zack Snyder that his dark, depressing and totally not inspiring version of Superman was a mistake, or that his hot mess of about four movies in one Batman v Superman needed to focus on just one thing rather than spread itself into a crappy omelette with Martha toppings.

Similarly, back in the day, there were people like Spielberg, John Milius, and the various production gurus to tell him when he was all fucked up, or a Brian De Palma to rewrite his garbage opening credit crawl into the form we know today. Or at least if they were around later, when he did the prequels and allegedly made another Indiana Jones movie with very old Harrison Ford, he certainly didn't listen to them. The point being that it almost always helps to have other people with different views around to give you a reality check. And WB and DC don't seem to have that. Whereas here in the Outhouse, you get smacked down pretty quick for even perceived f-ups.

None of that was why it was funny.

No, no, no! This is what they're doing, throwing shit at the wall to see if it sticks, but that's just it, they're throwing shit.

What they NEED to do is stop, take a breath, and THINK about what they did wrong and WHY it failed. Talk to people who didn't like their movies and find out why. Talk to fans and find out what THEY want, not what WB/DC wants to give them.

Evidently, they don't have a clue what the real world thinks, they live in their own little echo chamber. All they hear is each other, and they all think alike.

After all, they think that SS was a huge hit, that people LOVED Leto's weird-ass Joker, that people want a bunch of Joker movies, and that Harley Quinn's ass is the breakout character for the DCEU. They were convinced that Cyborg was the most popular character DC has, that Miller's Flash was also super popular.

Does shit stick to a wall? And what kind of person would even dare to pick one of those things up and hurl it against a wall. Now granted its Hollywood - there are buckets of the stuff available but still, even executives have standards. Also you do realize that if Warner Bros does get its "act" together most of these threads will grind to a halt. What will everyone talk about then....?

I think it's more that they're doing diversity wrong. And if they devoted half the energy into making good movies as they want to devote to making woke ones, they wouldn't be having any trouble.

This is why people at Warner Bros wear blindfolds in the meetings. They don't see anything. Even each other.

We will bitch about the next MCU phase.

SS had a good opening and a total take. I'm not sure that I personally read anywhere that they claimed it was a "big hit". But there were people that loved Leto's weird-ass Joker and did think that Harley Quinn was a breakout character for the DCEU. I assumed Achilles did as well because he ever talks about every week is her ass. :smt007

Well, you gotta admit, she's....well equipped in that department. :smt007

CBR periodically goes on about how it was a big hit, and WB itself greenlighted not only a SS sequel, but a couple of other movies based on it. As for Leto's Joker, there were people that liked one of the Iron Chef's "Trout parfait" too, but I assume it was basically on the chef himself and the dog that ate the resulting vomit.

The real trouble with Superman? He’s plain boring

The most exciting moment in Henry Cavill’s tenure as Superman occurred several hours after it was reported that the British actor was to be relieved of his red cape. With rumours of his imminent exit from the DC Comics “Extended Universe” swirling last week, Cavill posted a video in which he poses in a Krypton Lifting Team T-shirt and slowly raises into focus a plastic Superman toy. The soundtrack is Strauss the Younger’s Blue Danube with dogs barking along. Check it out on Instagram if you’re bored/lacking for nightmare fuel.

You know, the more I read what DC critics have to say, the more it seems they also have little-to-no idea what they actually want when it comes to those characters.
