Final Crisis Aftermath: Run! #1
as selected by Daringd[/center]
Written by Matthew Sturges
Art by Freddie E. Williams II
Cover by Kako

The Human Flame is a dead man. Literally just waking up after the events of FINAL CRISIS, he realizes all the heroes in the DC Universe target him as the lowlife who taped the murder of the Martian Manhunter with his cell phone. On top of that, all the villains in the world want to kill him for selling them out to Libra. He's powerless and penniless, and his only chance for survival is to run! This 6-issue miniseries examines the underbelly of the DCU and what happens when the wrong choices catch up with you. Nothing can prepare you for this chase.

DC Universe | 32pg. | Color | $2.99 US

If you would like to join the group it's easy. Just post a review and I'll add you to the member's list. As long as you stay active, eventually it will be your turn to make a pick.

With $4 comics becoming the norm, the economy being what it is and the growing popularity of mail order services the Review Group recognizes that it's becoming harder and harder to commit to participating each and every week. As long as you can post one review per calendar month you will stay in the member's list. It doesn't matter if you post your review the week of it's release or if you post it later. Going forward, there is no such thing as a "late" review.

The only request I make with the new format is that if you don't plan on posting a review or if you're going to be posting late is that you drop a note in the thread so that I can keep track of who is active and who isn't. The Spreadshee of Doom is thorough, but it can't read your mind.

Image
Comics are to be scored on a scale from 1-10. 1 being suck, 10 being a damn good comic. Beyond that, there's no right or wrong.

Image
If it's your week, you must announce your selection by 5pm EST the day Diamond releases it's shipping list. If you do not announce your pick at that time, I will add a poll to the thread that will remain open until 12pm EST so that the group can make the selection for that week. To ensure that you know it's your week, I will PM you when Midtown's list goes live on Thursdays.

Picked up both 1 and 2 today on my lunch hour. Reading 1 made me feel so guilty about waiting for the trade, I just sent an e-mail to MOC to order 3-5 for me.

I've reread #1 so much in anticipation of #2. I've lent it to my friend because she's a massive Pipettes fan but I'm going to get it back later so I can read it again before tomorrow.

Everyone that buys this and likes it should definitely buy it in singles. The trade won't have any of the back-ups or essays that that the singles have.

I would have liked the first one more if it didn't overwhelm me with references from hipster bands I don't care about... hopefully 2 is better... and the fact that he mentions Dancing Queen as Abba's greatest single, 'Take a Chance on Me' is waaay better.

They aren't really hipster bands, just British bands.

I've come to accept 'hipster' as another way to say 'indie music fan' the same way 'mosher' is used to refer to metal fans.

I think that here in the states people try way to hard to be cool and they end up being douchy and this stuff is their soundtrack... see you are British therefore already cool no need to try... it's like vampires, the ones born vampires are way better than those turned into vampires.

Yes, it is clearly marked in da rules....
...my view is a bit skewed though, I live in Portland OR, the capital of this crap... and not all those bands are British, many hail from here too. I am not neither hipster or douche, just loser asshole so what do I know :)
