Galaxy Express 999 Gets 1st Live-Action TV Series

Leiji Matsumoto's Galaxy Express 999 (Ginga Tetsudo 999) manga and anime franchise is inspiring its first live-action television adaptation. The series will premiere as an atypical live broadcast on June 18 at 8:00 p.m. on BS Sky Perfect.

Chiaki Kuriyama is playing Maetel and Ohshirō Maeda of the comedy duo Maeda Maeda is playing Tetsurō. The staff revealed images of Kuriyama and Maeda in costume. (More pictures are available on Mantan Web.)

Kamen Rider Crew Actor Daichi Nobe Passes Away After Jumping Accident

21-year-old Kamen Rider action crew actor Daichi Nobe passed away on Thursday morning. He was brought to the hospital when he lost consciousness after jumping practice the morning before.

According to police, Nobe was jumping from a hotel's 15 meter-high fifth story (about 49 feet) onto a 2.5 meter-thick air mattress (about 8 feet).

Nobe was part of the action crew for tokusatsu shows such as Kamen Rider Ex-Aid, Kamen Rider Build, and Uchū Sentai Kyūranger.

Live-Action Garo Series Kaminokiba -JINGA- Reveals Teaser Visual, 2018 Premiere

The official website of the Garo franchise revealed on Thursday that the new live-action television series Kaminokiba -JINGA- will air this year. The website also revealed a teaser visual for the series.

The show is a spinoff of the series focusing on Ryūga Dōgai, and centers around the character Jinga (played by Masahiro Inoue). The Garo: Kaminokiba live-action film, which focuses on Ryūga Dōgai, opened in Japan on January 6.

Jin-Roh Korean Live-Action Film Remake Unveils Its 1st Trailer!

Following the two teaser visuals introduced last month, Warner Brothers Korea's official YouTube channel has started streaming a 60-second first trailer for Inrang, the upcoming live-action remake film inspired by Hiroyuki Okiura-directed 2000 anime film Jin Roh: The Wolf Brigade. Acclaimed Korean director Kim Jee-woon (The Good, the Bad, the Weird, A Tale of Two Sisters, Arnold Schwarzenegger-starring The Last Stand) is attached to direct.
