Read about one of the Outhousers' favorite characters in the weekly Character Spotlight! This week, we look at Vegeta, Prince of All Saiyans!
In an Internet filled with overwhelming negativity and pointless hatred of frivolous stuff, it's sometimes necessary to take a step back, take a deep breath and remember why we enjoy comics in the first place. Character Spotlight is a weekly feature showcasing some of the Outhouse's favorite characters that epitomize why we read comics. Maybe you'll learn something, maybe you won't, but regardless we hope you enjoy the Outhouse's Character Spotlight!Origin Story:Born into the aristocracy of an inter-galactic warrior race known as Saiyans, Prince Vegeta is not only one of his planet's only survivors but one of it's most powerful!
Why He's Cool: Vegeta is the ultimate anti-hero. Arrogant, stubborn and seeks to play by his own rules. This former villain turned hero rarely ever backs down from a fight and won't hesitate to tell you he thinks your momma's cooking sucks.
Top Storylines: Without a doubt it's good to start at the beginning during the Raditz and Saiyan sagas when we first see Vegeta come to earth as a villain intent on conquering it and obliterating anyone in his path, even his own General Nappa.
Next move on to the Frieza saga to see Vegeta start the quest to his redemption and find out the fire that honed this true Man of Steel. Then find out what happens when Vegeta is redeemed and actually raising an Earth family alongside his former foes in the Buu Saga.
Vegeta can even beat Superman! Hellooooo! One of the sole survivors from a doomed alien planet? Check. Faster than a speeding bullet... no, light years!? Far out! More power than an earth full of locomotives? Most definetly! Vegeta can beat ol' Supes cause he's more powerful on almost every level, is only gaining more power, and isn't afraid to get nasty and play dirty. Think Black Adam on friggin inter-planetary steroids! Superman doesn't stand a chance against Vegeta's gattling beam or his martial art prowess. Then there's the blonde monkey thing. Superman can't beat monkeys!!!
Where the character is today:Vegeta's story is being retold (along with the rest of the DBZ cast) in Dragonball Z Kai. Check Nicktoons and CW's Toonzai for more information. Everything else should be available in stores, including the original Manga series that everything is based on. Check it out.
