For that matter, why are some Klingon words heard in Klingon (e.g. "Qapla'!") while the rest are heard in English? Everybody knows what Qapla' means, so why is it not understood by the universal translator?

What's the economic level of a world like where the frivolous status of "rich playboy" still means you have enough money to build your team a mansion with built in defenses, and moon base and or orbiting space station and a fleet of aircraft and all their requisite supplies?

Maybe it's one of those words that has become part of the common lexicon the way we might say "gracias" even though we aren't actually speaking in Spanish. So it's included in the universal translator.
