FCBD - Buffy vs. (SPOILER - kind of)

Postby Juan Cena » Sat May 05, 2012 6:14 pm

Haven't read the Buffy book before. Maybe that would help explain why she and Spike were doing the sci-fi thing. Having Buffy fight a Xenomorph might have made more sense. Anyhow it was an idea that really should have been given a little more space (if you should pardon the pun) to be fleshed out. I mean the confrontation lasts about two frikin pages at the end and nothing really happens. Too much of Buffy talking to Spike talking to alien insects who act too frickin human. Letdown city.

Confrontation should have absolutely lasted at least four or five pages. Not even enough chance for Buffy to do her best Ripley, dangit. I didn't think a FCBD book could be as annoying as the New 52 crapfest, but this one did.

Doesn't make it good. The Guild half was way better.

But if the idea behind the book was to get readers interested in the Buffy book and it sucked, are readers going to turn around and plop down money to buy a Buffy book? Probably not.

Eh, I guess. But assuming a new reader wouldn't be aware of " the New 52 crapfest", and also assuming they wouldn't be judging a free comic with the same eye you are, I think it's probably not as bad as you make it out to be.

The Buffy FCBD book had flaws all on its own. You could probably figure them out without knowing about New 52.
