Phoenix (Jean Grey) vs Green Lantern (Hal Jordan)

Postby funckygarcon » Fri May 11, 2012 5:10 pm

if they were to clash against each others. who would win?

- Jean can control objects with her telekinesis powers, read thoughts and insert hers in the mind of her opponent, paralyze the brain, generate force fields, fly, teleport and she is a good hand to hand fighter

- Green Lantern can create anything with his ring by only his imagination:- canons, nets, beam shooters, swords...you name it , he can fly, he's a tremendous boxer and his ring can lift unimaginable weights, in one time he was able to recreate an entire city.

in my opinion, Jean takes the cake, the ability to paralyze the brain is enough. cuz Hal Jordan depends on his imagination. however controlling a brain takes a lot of Jean's power and it also takes a long time.

rules:-
-fight till you drop
-Jean can't transform to The Phoenix, just to even things out

Phoenix flashes her tits, distracting Hal, then knocks him out with her mind.

Can a Green Lantern create a barrier to prevent mind control? If so, then GL would win, otherwise it would come down to if GL could keep Jean so busy that she couldn't concentrate enough to get control of his mind.

Hal is a goof ball, i think he can be distracted by that, good strategic thinking!! or perhaps a good sultry behavior, lol

These are two of my favorite characters of all-time and I can say without a doubt, or editorial interference, that Jean would win this.

Pre-Crisis Hal Jordan would have a pretty good chance of winning but current Hal would get taken to the cleaners.

He can't stop Hector Hammond so I don't see how he could stop The Phoenix.

personally i never saw him do that, but i think he can contain himself in something like a thick green cube and prevent her from doing that. as for the second point, Hal is a natural jerk who is full of himself, so i think he can keep her busy for a while. Jean has a very good concentration, though.

GLs have been shown creating psionic barriers in the past, I believe, but I can't imagine that would keep someone of Jean's caliber out for long. If we're talking Phoneix force empowered Jean (which appears to be the case). She takes the cake, no question.

This raises another interesting question: Who would win between a fully Phoenix-possessed Jean Grey and a Parallax-possessed Hal Jordan?

Hal Jordan is very smart, he wouldn't go down easily.

this is worthy of a whole new thread. however. i said Hal Jordan and left it open for anything to happen. i didn't specify a specific stage of his life.

i think Hal is capable of holding back Jean's mind control ability, but not for too long, he would have to act quickly after it.

A Green Lantern is a space cop, the Phoenix is a cosmic level entity that destroys planets.

The only GL that might stand a chance would be Mogo, and it's a slight chance at that.

maybe, but not Hal Jordan, he's not an ordinary space cop. he is very smart and has an endless imagination. Hal is on a different level from that of a normal Green Lantern.

This. Lock the thread. There is no other answer... except also flash her butt at Hal or flash the taco. Tacos rule...
