So how do you guys begin your cover letters when applying for jobs?

I'm stuck with one and the "I recently saw this posting on XX and would like to submit my application" is fucking stale.

That said, it's all very hokey, do you think HR people or whoever gets this roll their eyes at this or do they understand that you have to do this.
