Marvel has revealed a new variant cover to Astonishing X-Men #51, the gay wedding issue, by Marko Djurdjevic, and somebody is jealous!

The new variant should be applauded for it's boldness in depicting such a tender moment between Northstar and his partner Kyle, but on a more important note, why does Iceman look so mad? Marvel refers to the issue as one of the "happiest moments in X-Men history," but not everyone on that cover is looking joyful. It has long been theorized that the Iceman is himself a gay character that has yet to come out of the closet, and his strong feelings here could represent either jealousy or anger at his own repression. The Beast also looks slightly perturbed, though it's always possible that he simply has fleas. Hopefully this plotline is addressed in future issues.

no they were in the 80s early 90s because marvel didn't want to make any waves by having a gay character.. it was always hinted that he was gay, but they never came out and said it.
