My thoughts on this if it is indeed true:

Lame. I figured they would do something like this with. DC is always over hyping things and then never delivering. Alan Scott first Green Lantern withstanding, in my opinion is not a Iconic or Prominent character in the DCU Mythos. When you ask just about anyone anything about Green Lantern Alan Scott is gonna be about the last name on that list. Hal Jordan, John Stewart, Kyle Rayner, or even Guy Gardner are probably more well known that Alan Scott. Then the character is not even gonna be in the DC New 52 Proper but on the alternate Earth 2 and not even have his own title, that does not describe prominent character to me either. I mean the New 52 is seen by many is just an alternate version of the real DC Universe that at any moment they could revert back to. So that would make this new Earth 2, an alternate or an alternate Universe, again how is that Iconic or Prominent?

Dude, there's a LARGE number of gay men who lived as "straight" and have kids. Hell, there was a movie just 2 years ago with Ewan McGregor and his relationship with his father in the film who came out.

I think this sends the wrong message. If there was an alternate universe where I existed, I'd still be certain things based on the fact that I exist. Maybe I grew up in a different environment, but I'd still have the same parents, and I'd still be gay. This kinda goes along with the different choices, different life thing too much.

I honestly don't have an opinion on this. I've just been watching everyone's reaction and it's been something.

It's pretty a pretty stupid choice.

It comes off like they just pulled a name out of a hat rather than just thought about how to do this.

At least Grant Morrison's 'gay batman' argument (to use a comparison) had thought behind it. This is just so random.

Now, the thing is, I could accept Alan being gay considering how long it was until he settled down. Jade and Obsidian came from a trist.
It could be said that he was unaware and never tried to live it. But then, it was the 40s, 50s, etc. This version of Alan is not in that kind of an era.

Still, must hate Didio, so... FORGET THAT!!! DAMN YOU DIDIO!!!

I absolutely agree. This is one of those things that they should have either done it right or not done it all.
