Marvel finally confirmed what fans of the show have been dreading: they haven't renewed Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes for a third season. In it's place come 2013.. Avengers Assemble!

The official word from Marvel is thus:

" The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes" won't be renewed for the 3rd Season. Marvel Animation will present their newly developed series "Marvel's Avengers Assemble" in 2013."

Marvel also showcased the first promo image for the cartoon:

Expect to hear more from Marvel on this subject come at the San Diego Comic Con in July.

Yep that he did. He said it somewhere, though it was I think during right after S2 and someone asked him if they had a third season what would they have? He said it be more on the mystical side and stated those characters. Plus I think Taskmaster was mentioned as well.

Nah I'm just saying those on A:EMH want to show all the Marvel Universe as they could. This season focused on enlarging the universe they established by going cosmic stuff. The only thing left was mystical and that's what would have been the focus if they got a green lit Season 3.

at the transparent obviousness of Marvel. so we trash a great cartoon to get:

the movie lineup + a token (now, in all honesty, i loves me some Sam Wilson, but come on...). way to hit all the pandering bullet-points, Loeb.
