Do you get offended when someone says (or writes) "no homo"

Curious to know if this little phrase offends people.

Do others offend people like "(pause)" or "not like that though"?

It doesn't offend me largely because I'm not gay, but it reminds me of kids using the word "homo" derisively and sounds suitably inarticulate to me. Raises a red flag there's a possibility the person speaking might be an idiot.

Does it offend me... no... but it does mark the person saying it as a drooling idiot too ignorant to be trusted with tying his own shoes.

People who call the police popo or say things like "I seen" are marked in exactly the same way.

To me it's just a stupid sounding phrase, kinda like that '...At the end of the day...' bullshit. Dumb shit like that comes and goes... In the meantime, it's just an annoyance and an example of poor verbal skills.

On the other hand, it's waaay easier to type than 'No sexual advance intended.'

As long as there is no comma between the words.

That wouldn't offend me either though, even though I'm not gay.

First time I heard it was on the tv show the Boondocks.

In that context it is used by an undereducated pre-teen because he heard it from somewhere, perhaps his favorite rapper.

I don't know if it originated from that show, but it has caught on. I think used correctly it can be funny and I don't imagine it would ever offend me personally.

I should start using the opposite with women.

"Hey, nice tits. No Hetero."
However, Liefeld is an enigma wrapped in a pouch-filled, muscular, footless conundrum.

Some of you take things way too seriously.

No homo.

Nah, it was a phrase for a few years before Boondocks brought it up.

There is a bit of a difference when someone you already know isn't an idiot uses a phrase like that with an added layer of irony they would probably not admit to having intended in the first place.

I don't know but this guy is usually right about everything, so I'll just share his position (no...you know):
