A fan was struck by a car today while trying to maintain her spot in line.
Tragedy has marred the beginning of SDCC as a fan was killed when she stumbled into traffic this morning.
Fifty-three year old Giselle G. was struck by a Subaru when she tripped and fell in front of it while rushing to maintain her spot in line. Her and other Twilight fans were being moved to tents in order to keep the building clear. The woman, who did not have right of way, was struck by the car and was pronounced dead after paramedics rushed her to the hospital.
This is not the first time someone has been injured or killed at SDCC. Last year, a fan suffered minor wounds after being stabbed by another attendee during a dispute over seating at a panel.
