Who has done more for the American comic book industry?

Postby Jubilee » Wed Jul 11, 2012 4:13 pm

I'm running a series of five polls. I've randomly selected five writers from Britain and five from the USA, and there is going to be a series of five threads where we decide whose done more for the American comic book industry!

Ok.

Here are the five polls!

Warren Ellis v Tony Daniel
Allen Moore v Tony Bedard
Chris Claremont v JT Krul
James Robinson v Stan Lee
Mark Miller v Chuck Austen.

First one is Ellis v Daniel!

You could have done:

Alan Moore vs. Will Eisner
Jack Kirby vs. Mark Millar
Stan Lee vs. Warren Ellis
etc.

instead of "British great" vs. "American hack"

Voting honestly, Ellis.

4 of those are the most one-sided fights since Dick Cheney started punching babies in the face for their pacifiers.

Don't get ahead of yourselves! Like I said I just picked five random names! America has Stan Lee, and yet some of you still complain!

Just vote honestly and fairly!

The witness said Mr Brown then called out to Ms Hay's adult daughter: "Look at this, I'm tittie-f***ing your mother!".

You did not pick five random names. You picked five of the most famous British writers. And then you picked 4 of the worst American writers. Then you threw in Stan Lee.

No mention of Brubaker, Waid, Busiek or any other great American writer.

I just chose randomly some Americans. There's a lot more to chose from, I thought it might be pretty close.

If this is successful we will do

Gaiman v Whedon
Byrne v winnick
And then well have a triple threat match with your three v another three!

Busiek
Waid
Brubaker

V

Jenkins
Ian gray
Niel Cameron.

I feel this is a fair contest. Eight hacks, James Robinson and Stan Lee. Who emerges victorious?

Got to agree it's got a very clear agenda here.

Did you just call Warren Ellis a hack? And then imply Robinson is not?
