Brutus Buckeye: 1965-2013

Ohio State head football coach Urban Meyer used the Buckeyes' open practice on Saturday to try some new things out with the team, and see how what some new faces could do when given the chance to shine.

This included giving beloved Ohio St. mascot Brutus Buckeye a chance to shine on the gridiron instead of just rallying support for the team on the sidelines. Sadly, this didn't turn out too well, as Brutus met linebacker David Perkins head on. The result: Brutus got slaughtered.

Here a closer look of Brutus getting totally demolished by Perkins.

No word from Ohio St. about funeral arrangements for Brutus, but we'll keep you posted.
