Alabama spring game crowd numbers down, Auburn spring game sets record attendance.

It the thrill gone in Tuscaloosa? Perish the thought. But the truth is that Alabama's spring game was watched by the second-lowest crowd in Bryant-Denny Stadium since Nick Saban took over at the Crimson Tide's head football coach.

Attendance figures for the A-Day game were announced as 78,315. The only figures lower than that was for Saban's first A-Game as 'Bama HC in 2008.

This is in contrast to Auburn's spring game, the first under new HC Gus Malzahn, which attracted a record crowd of 83,401. The Tigers' A-Day also saw the final official rolling of the Toomer's Corner oaks. The trees are scheduled to be removed this week after attempts to save the trees from succumbing to poisoning failed.
