Texas athletic director DeLoss Dodds will be stepping down from his position he's held since 1981. This according to a report from Orangebloods.com's Chip Brown. He will reportedly take on an advisory role with the Texas athletic department, though continue to receive his current salary level through 2015.
Dodds' reported departure put the future job stability of Texas head football coach Mack Brown into further doubt. Brown has been under a considerable level of criticism even before last Saturday's loss to BYU. Brown has been criticized steadily for his failure to successfully recruit high profile in-state recruits such as Texas A&M starting quarterback Johnny Manziel, and current Washington Redskins starting QB Robert Griffin III, and Indianapolis Colts starting QB Andrew Luck.
UPDATE: An unnamed University of Texas spokesman is denying Brown's report of Dodds' departure, calling it "absolutely not true."
