Time for another edition of "Driving While Georgia." Georgia cornerback Shaq Wiggins is the latest Bulldog to be arrested for traffic violations.
Wiggins was pulled over by Athens-Clarke County police on Sunday evening for going 52 miles per hour in a 35 MPH speed zone. The police officer discovered Wiggins was driving with a suspended license due to failure to appear in court for an undisclosed reason.
"As (the officer) ran his driver’s license doing a check, it returned for a failure to appear so he arrested him for that,” said Hilda Sorrow, Athens-Clarke County police spokeswoman.
Wiggins’ license was suspended for not appearing in court but she could not provide details on the previous charge or which court it was."
Wiggins was later booked into Clark County Jail. He has since been released on $2000 bond.
There has been no word any disciplinary action for Wiggins from the University of Georgia or the school's athletic department.
