Will "fading" be the next big trend in football helmets? Last season the Jacksonville Jaguars introduced a two-tone helmet with one color fading into the other designed by Nike. Syracuse also got into the act with a blue-and-orange "faded" alternate helmet.
Now North Carolina State is apparently not just jumping on the "faded" bandwagon, it's upping the ante. The school released the below video featuring an alternate helmet that doesn't just go from a black steel-like pattern (for lack of a better word) to red, it fades into a wolf's face on the back of the helmet.
Hopefully, enough time has been put in to making sure the helmet will protect the player's head better than was put into the new design.
