Former Auburn tight end Philip Lutzenkirchen was killed in a automobile accident early Sunday morning. He was 23 years old.
Lutzenkirchen played for Auburn from 2009 to 2012. He was a member of the undefeated 2010 Auburn team that went on to win the SEC and BCS titles.
The Opelika-Auburn News paid tribute to Lutzenkirchen on the front page of its sports section with a photo taken during the Tiger's 2010 victory over Georgia.
