Dang Sorry Dawgs!

Georgia players and fans can probably go ahead and make plans for New Year's celebrations, because football probably won't be a part of them. It's getting more and more obvious that the 2009 Dawgs may be the worst team since the Ray Goff era, and that's saying something. Mark Richt isn't on the hot seat yet, but unless he starts making some executive decisions, he will be by 2010.
Saturday's loss to LSU is just the tip of the iceberg. A late comeback squashed because A.J. Green couldn't control himself, and got a penalty because of an excessive celebration? Did he really think the refs were going to let Georgia get away with one of those again?
And the game was marked by yet another sorry performance by the Georgia defense. Willie Martinez's grew let LSU take advantage of that penalty to score the game winning touchdown. Martinez's firing can't come soon enough.
Georgia has been pretty lucky so far this year. Expect that luck to run out soon. And don't expect to win against Tennessee, Florida, Auburn, or Georgia Tech, either. The Dawgs will be lucky if the Humanitarian Bowl comes calling at the end of the year.
