George R.R. Martin has several novella's out already featuring Duncan the Tall and his squire Egg as they adventure through Westeros.  The stories are set about 90 years before Game of Thrones, but often have events and cameos of characters mentioned in Martin's 'A Song of Ice and Fire' saga.

The novella will come out as part of the Dangerous Women anthology in may 2013 and follow Dunk & Egg to Winterfell where "the she-wolves are said to rule as Lord Stark lays dying".  Fans may be interested to find out if a vision of the past from A Dance with Dragons happens during the story.

Amazon had also listed a novella collection due one year after Dangerous Women in 2014 from the same publisher.  Martin had said previously that the first three Dunk & Egg novellas, 'The Hedge Knight,’ ‘The Sworn Sword,’ and ‘The Mystery Knight,’ and the fourth would be collected together and released with the fifth novella. I hate to get my hopes up for Martin's writing to come out on the timeframe of my own wishes, but the timing would seem right for the Dunk & Egg collection to come to us in 2014.
