The EXTREME Adventures of Rob Liefeld: Captain America Civil War Review

In this inaugural column, superstar artist Rob Liefeld reviews the hit Marvel movie, Captain America: Civil War!

Since it's North American release on Friday, May 6th, Captain America: Civil War has taken in $192.4 million domestically, adding to it's already impressive international total of $512.8 putting it's worldwide box office total at just over $700 million. It has received overwhelmingly positive reviews from critics and fans alike, placing it on track to be one of the most successful entries in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to date. As such, we at The Outhouse thought that one of our regular contributors should interview one of the comic industry's most prolific creators, Rob Liefeld, to find out what he thought of the film and what type of future the comic industry has on the silver screen.

Grayson: Alright Rob, you are known for giving the comic industry such creations as Deadpool and Cable, along with helping to form Image Comics in the early 90's. You also had a short lived run on both Captain America and the Avengers during their Heroes Reborn event...

Rob Liefeld: And to this day, I am totally honored to be the only person who has accurately drawn Captain America's most bodacious chest.

Grayson: O...k. Well, despite that, we would like to get your thoughts on the newest entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe; Captain America: Civil War.

Rob Liefeld: All things considered, I have really enjoyed the excellent movies of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It's like I'm totally reading a comic with my eyes AND my ears! With each passing entry, Marvel moves one step closer to bringing all of my favorite characters to life!

Grayson: Wow, so you enjoyed the movie.

Rob Liefeld: Whoa, slow down dude. I didn't say that.

Grayson: Really? So you didn't enjoy the movie?

Rob Liefeld: I didn't say that either dude!

Grayson: What?! Do you have an opinion about the movie?

Rob Liefeld: I don't know, I didn't watch it.

Grayson: You didn't watch it? We asked you to do an interview about Captain America: Civil War! Don't you think that you should have at least watched the movie?

Rob Liefeld: While I totally didn't watch the movie, I didn't want to come unprepared and look like a total dweeb, so I fully watched the trailer!

Grayson: The...trailer?

Rob Liefeld: Yeah and I'm fully prepared to give a most righteous review.

Grayson: Of the trailer?

Rob Liefeld: Yeah.

Grayson: What the hell, it's all we've got at this point. Rob, what were your thoughts on the trailer for Captain America: Civil War?

Rob Liefeld: I thought that it was too short. Like, I didn't know what was motivating the characters. Also, I feel like Deadpool's role was totally understated.

Grayson: Deadpool wasn't in the trailer. He isn't even in the movie!

Rob Liefeld: But I totally just picked up a most righteous copy of his excellent solo film on VHS this morning.

Grayson: Did you agree to this interview just so that you could promote the release of Deadpool on Blu-ray and DVD?

Rob Liefeld: And VHS!

Grayson: They don't even make VHS anymore!

Rob Liefeld: Whoa, no way!

Grayson: ...

Ummm...Deadpool is now available on Blu-Ray, DVD, and digital download?
