W-Day, aka the day of reckoning for the Waffles for Stephanie campaign, has come and gone. What sort of impact did it have?
Yesterday August 10th was the day Stephanie Brown fans were to send packages of Waffle Mix to the DC Offices to send a message that
they are insane they want a Stephanie comic. So far, there hasn't been any formal word from them about it or any Twitter pictures of Dan Didio eating syrup-coated waffles over an issue of Batgirl vol. 3 #1 (or thanking the fans for the year's worth of free breakfast).
The only impact so far of this fan event can be seen on DC's Facebook page. The site was hit with over 3,447 messages (and as of today, fans are still posting), asking for the return of the beloved fan favorite character. Surprisingly, DC has allowed this to continue, electing not to delete the messages.
The next big fan event is scheduled for August 31st, when Cassandra Cain fans will purchase her issues from Comixology. Will either event convince DC Comics to bring one or both of the characters back? We'll keep you posted.
