Nightfly's Recommended List of Returning TV Shows

Nightfly shares the returning primetime shows he's most excited to see - beginning tonight (9/10) with NBC's The Voice.

Now that the new Fall TV season is upon us, I thought it a good time to share my personal recommendations for network shows returning to the primetime line-up. I've yet to see any of these shows' premieres but am eager to enjoy their new seasons. Thanks to NBC, my Fall viewing season starts tonight with (all judges returning to) the Season Two premiere of The Voice! Check out a clip from The Voice, featuring Christina Aguilera, at the bottom of this article.

If you haven't read it already, you might also be interested in my Fall TV Guide to brand new shows debuting this season. Two of my spotlighted new sitcoms, The New Normal and Go On, debut tomorrow (9/11) but you can actually watch them right now online, on Hulu or OnDemand.

Because the list below is of shows already successful enough to be returning to primetime, I'll not be including sublists of their stars or producers. You can, however, still find all that info by visiting their official show sites hyperlinked to each series' title.

So, without further ado, I'll begin with a Top 12 list of the returning hour-long dramas I'm most looking forward to, followed by a handful of Runner Ups and a few Pay Cable offerings. I also included one special Honorable Mention for a show I've foolishly not watched but wholeheartedly (eventually) plan to.

And to close out this article, underneath the sitcoms list you'll find a super-short list of two (music oriented) reality competition shows I'm anxious to see again, both returning this month. In the case of The Voice, I should say "returning tonight." Enjoy. And don't forget to mark your calendars.
