The first set image has been revealed for "All You Need Is Kill", a movie based on a Japanese "light novel"* by Hiroshi Sakurazaka (with illustrations by Yoshitoshi ABe). The image features Tom Cruise, who plays Lt. Col. Bill Cage (likely Keiji Kiriya in the original novel) a soldier who was killed on his first mission, but thrown into a time loop, and reincarnating over and over again into the battle. Each time he reincarnates, he gets better and more skillful at battling the alien "Mimics".

The film will also feature Jonas Armstrong, Emily Blunt, Kick Gurry, Bill Paxton, Charlotte Riley, and Tony Way. It is directed by Doug Liman and is scheduled to open on March 14, 2014.

The original novel on which it is based was published in English by Viz Media.

*Light novels are shorter novels, similar to novellas. They often have illustrations included with the prose.
