Deadline is reporting that New Line is moving forward with plans to make a movie adaptation of Y: The Last Man. While the movie's been in development since 2007, the planned movie finally gained some traction last year, when a script written by Matthew Federman and Stephen Scaia was ordered by the studio. New Line seemed optimistic about the script, although things remained quiet since September.
New Line has hired director Dan Trachtenberg to helm the film. Trachenberg is best known in geek circles as the man behind the recent faux Portal movie commercial that made the rounds in 2011. This will be his first second full-length movie, after Crime of the Century, which is currently in production.
