New this season is Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead director Michelle MacLaren and The West Wing's Alex Graves. A few names return from seasons one and two and showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss will handle the season opener and final three episode writing duties. George R.R. Martin will once again write a single episode this season with episode twenty-seven. Readers may remember that he penned season two's fan-favorite episode Blackwater, as well as season one's The Pointy End and hopes to continue to write one episode every season. Anyone want to place bets on which key point in book three Martin might be writing?
