Um, Do What Now? Quicksilver Confirmed For X-Men 2

But, I thought….

Source: Twitter

Yea, you read that right; despite Joss Whedon recently confirming the character for Avengers 2, he has also been confirmed for rival Fox's X-Men: Days of Future Past, and we even have a tweet from Bryan Singer to prove it:

(Update: Singer has since deleted his tweet, but here is a screenshot)

Will this mark the beginning of a blood feud between Fox and Disney, leading to vicious shootouts between executives as the lobby for turf in the tough streets of Hollywood? Will Marvel hire Joseph Gordon Levitt to play Quicksilver in Avengers 2, causing fan anguish everywhere?

Is Singer lying? Is Whedon? Did Marvel split the rights? Are movie goers smart enough to handle this? If so, why the Hell did DC cancel Hellblazer? Who exactly did something stupid here? Marvel? Fox? Singer? Disney? DC?

Will shirtless Benedict Cumberbatch be involved? Will he have a shower scene?

More importantly, what does Rob Liefeld think of all this?

Is Die Hard still the greatest Christmas movie of all time?

Is SpongeBob Squarepants really a metaphor of the 7 Deadly Sins?

Hulk mad?

Would Bryan Singer lick Brian Michael Bendis?

Will we ever publish this article, or will we just keep coming up with questions?

Stick with The Outhouse as we find out.

UPDATE - Yes, the rights are all split up

We both have [Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch]. There’s a specific arrangement with those two characters that would allow us to use them with “Avengers,” but not discuss or reference their mutant or Magneto-related lineage. They can use them as mutants and as Magneto’s relatives, but cannot have anything to do with “The Avengers.” - Kevin Feige

And from HitFix

"This is not a situation where the two different companies are working together to try and create a sense of a larger shared world. In fact, if either of them could get the other to back off, they would. The thing is, Bryan Singer has designed a sequence that he feels only works with Quicksilver, and Joss Whedon feels that there is a pressing reason for Quicksilver to show up in "The Avengers 2," and so what we're going to see is a legally-negotiated stand-off in which we'll get two totally different versions of one character. While they may act like things are amicable in public, HitFix sources say otherwise." Unsurprisngly, they add that, "Marvel has larger plans for the character, though, and wants to use him for more than just one action sequence."

RU, or as he’s known in the writers’ room: the cute one, is relatively unappreciated in his time.  RU’s YouTube show, RUviews is watched by literally multiple people every month and his Outhouse articles have helped line many a bird cage.  Before you send RU a message, he knows that there are misspelled words in this article, and probably in this bio he was asked to write.  RU wants everyone to know that after 25+ years of collecting he still loves comic books and can’t believe how seriously fanboys take them.  RU lives in Akron Ohio (unfortunately) with WIFE, ‘lilRuRu, and the @DogGodThor.  You can also find him on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, & even Google+ (if anyone still uses that).
